Ditchling Beacon is one of our favourite flying sites in a N to NE wind.

Ditchling Beacon is flyable in both NE or N but there are 2 different sites to fly from.

The sites are marked on the map.

The NE site is to the East, across the road from the carpark and immediately the hill is to the North East.

The N site is to the West from the carpark, over the hill and to the North at the bottom of the hill.

The NE slope has limited landing space and is bounded by barbed wire fences both in front and behind. The site is also popular for horses, dog walkers, families, etc... so care must be taken when flying at this location.

The N slope has far better landing space and is less frequented by other people, dogs, etc... who tend to stick to the S. Downs way which is a long way behind the flight line.
