Firle Beacon is our favourite site in N or NW winds.

Firle Beacon is found off the A27 East of Brighton. Proceed on the A27 past the A26 roundabout , then take the 2nd right called  The Street. At a small intersection take the right fork into Firle Bostal and follow this up to the top of the hill. The carpark is on the left at the top.

Cross the road to the West of the carpark and proceed to the 2nd bowl (the 1st bowl is traditionally reserved for para-gliders). There is also another bowl beyond the trees further to the West. The landing area here is immense with plenty of short grass.

Some way behind the flight line is the S. Downs way which is populated with walkers, horses, families, cyclists, etc... so consideration needs to be given to these people when flying and landing.
