Slope Soaring Sussex is a friendly group of RC glider flying enthusiasts based in Sussex, UK. We slope soar at various locations on the South Downs and have a field for thermal soaring. ‘Slope Soaring Sussex’ is a BMFA affiliated RC Glider-only flying club. We fly many types of RC gliders from conventional slope soarers to Scale, DLG, F3B, F3J, F5J, PSS and more. Our aim is to encourage and promote safe, responsible and enjoyable radio controlled model flying. New and experienced flyers welcome.
It's often the case with the Bwlch, as you discovered on your last trip there Paul, that the forecast can say one thing, but the reality at the Bwlch is totally different. On many occasion I have gone there expecting marginal conditions and there has been 18 mph with awesome lift on Mickey's.
ReplyDeleteThe same can be said for the Lleyn where I am off to on Friday. With 9 mph forecast but I'm expecting 15 mph + on the ridge line, and 20 - 30 fliers are still expected to turn up.
Maybe you guys could come along to the PSSA Fly for Fun meet at the Bwlch on 19th/20th September? You don't need a PSS model to fly, everyone is welcome.
