Itford can be used in a NW wind. There's a large and very deep bowl to the NW affording a lot of lift.

Itford Hill is located on the A26 heading South towards Newhaven. At Southease there is a layby on the left where parking is permitted. The walk is fairly steep and lengthy. Next to the layby is a farm gate giving access to the S. Downs way which you follow to the crest of Itford Hill.
The Slope works best in a NW wind and the bowl is very large with a large landing area behind the flight line.
The site is on the S. Downs way and is shared by many other people - usually walkers and cyclists so these have to be considered when flying and landing at this site.
