Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) - Saturday 25th October 2025

Last Saturday the Club gathered at a local Harvester pub to hold our Annual General Meeting (AGM). I am please to say that many members were in attendance but slightly less than last year. It was nice to get many members together in a convivial setting without the need for 4 layers of clothing and a woolly hat.

It was very nice to have the Club Chair in attendance this year as he was not able to attend the AGM last year.

A number of subjects were raised with justified arguments on both sides. We manage to produce a framework for 2026 and some possible events were identified.

The Committee for 2026 were voted in and they are the same individuals as this year except for our dear friend Kevin who sadly passed away recently after a short illness.

After the meeting some of the members stayed on to enjoy lunch and many conversations heard were involving model aircraft related subjects.

It was noted that this Blog site had over 150,000 hits over the past year which is very encouraging.  I understand that many of our viewers are from overseas.

The Club membership now stands at 54 with a cap set at 60 in total.

It seems that the Club is going from strength to strength and as the days are now becoming shorter many members are starting their winter build projects and we are looking forward to seeing these projects in the new year.

Once again I would like to thank the members who attended the AGM and I am looking forward to seeing many of you on a slope in the very near future.

Mill Hill 31st August 2025

We had decided to fly at Beeding Bowl today, but on our way there I received a message from Nick V saying that the better lift was at Mill Hill, so we changed venue.

On arrival Martin J and I found there was a good SW wind and Nick V was flying his Wildthing and Plane Sailing (a name he invented for this model)

Martin and I both had Wildthings which flew really well in the strong SW wind. I had a Coyote and Martin had a Blob, but we left them in the car as the conditions were too blustery.

During the morning we were also joined by George E (Wildthing and Blob), Nick W (Wildthing) and Dave K (Wildthing).

I had arranged to meet Bruce A for his second session of flying instruction and although we only had about an hour, Bruce progressed very well.

A number of our club members had decided to go to Beeding Bowl to give it a try. We decided to remain at Mill Hill because the conditions were really good.

Overall we had a great morning's flying and Bruce progressed well.
