ITFORD HILL (WEST SLOPE)
Itford is our favourite flying site in a WSW to WNW wind.

Itford Hill is located on the A26 heading South towards Newhaven. At Southease there is a layby on the left where parking is permitted. The walk is fairly steep and lengthy. Next to the layby is a farm gate giving access to the S. Downs way which you follow to the crest of Itford Hill.
The Slope works best in a pure Westerly wind but will tolerate WNW to WSW. It is a gentle slope but affords masses of lift and the landing area is immense.
The site is on the S. Downs way and is shared by many other people - usually walkers and cyclists so these have to be considered when flying and landing at this site.
