Firle Beacon 22nd May

I was the first to arrive at Firle to find a nice breeze blowing, so I started my walk to the west side .
On my arrival carrying 3 models - my Wildthing, SMS Easy trainer and my modified Starlet.
First off I tried my Wildthing but the wind was not quite strong enough .
Next I tried my SMS which flew very well and I made some ok landings but the last was a bit heavy causing a small bit of damaged.
Next to arrive was Martin J sporting his Blob, Aggressor and Sierra MKII. Martin flew the Blob and Aggressor but had control problems with the Sierra so did not try it and later returned to his car for his Wildthing which was a good move.
Next to join us was Mark J armed with his Wildthing, Irwin and converted Lidl. Mark was in the company of a guy called Jim who was only flying a Wildthing. By this time there was enough wind and lift for a Wildthing.
Soon after Robin A arrived with his Salto101, Bugatti and Mefisto.
Conditions were very good by now so everyone was having good stick time, I was encouraged to try my Starlet which has had very little flying time, on launching it flew very well with little trimming needed, on trying to land I let it go too far behind and stalled it. On going to find it it was against a fence causing minimal damage "PHEW".
I left after this around midday having things to do.
I was a nice mornings flying and great to catch up and by the look of things the guys had great time after I left. Look forward to the next time.
