A cracking session at Firle Beacon
The rain went through and the strength of the wind increased, so off to Firle Beacon we went. I was joined by Will, Russell, Les and Roger. Loads of Hand Gliders up but the wind was just too strong for the Paragliders (hooray!). Lots of other modellers up there........
After months of waiting the Willow 2 came out to play. Its maiden flight went well. Boy does it move (well that's the idea, given that it is a F3f racer). I took it nice and gentle for its first flight. A few tweek's and she will be a force to be reckoned with. I loved it! (big beaming smile).....
Here she is guys.........
Will as ever moved from strength to strength with him moving onto flying my old Dragon Valenta. His first fully fledged mouldy. Les joined in and cruised around with the Dragon but I drew the line at him looping the old girl but Les got plenty of flying from his Middle Phase and Cliffwhacker (which he can now nearly roll!). Will also gave the Guppy a go. Talk about fast. The Guppy would keep up with the Willow (well not really) but its fast and rolls in milliseconds (did I tell you it's for sale? - Contact Tim for further details). Russell did a Stirling job flying his Ridge Runt in blustery conditions. Roger was mastering his 'A' badge routine. I'm pleased to say Roger you get an 'A' for effort!
We were entertained by some of the local guys with good sized scale gliders. The picture above is of a Pat Teakle ASW20. A few years old now but still looking good in the air.
Lots of video to be edited and uploaded (hopefully tomorrow),
Fantastic afternoon flying. Great to try out so many thrilling models. That guppy goes like a bat out of hell. Proper seat of your pants flying that scared even me. Highly recommended for anyone with the guts for it! Loved the Dragon. Still buzzing from the experience. Need to get me some more of this mouldie action! Cheers for the opportunities to try out so many models mate! Much appreciated!
