This is the only one that makes sense and has a direct response from Manny at the BMFA Head Office.
Here is what the South East Area BMFA (Facebook page) have published today:
''There was an item on the BBC South East news last night about the incident at Mill Hill last week saying the Police have stopped Model flying from the Hill. This is not the case I have spoken to Manny at head office who is in contact with the CAA who are the authority in this matter not the police and they seen no reason to stop flying from the Hill.''
The big question I must ask all the readers of this blog - Given the current situation are you still planning to continue flying up at Mill Hill?

Of those who vote "no" it would be useful to know whether that's because they generally don't for some reason. Otherwise it could give the impression that their decision arises from the collision incident.

As you know I am not a big fan of flying at Mill Hill for various reasons and it wouldn't be my first choice of site to fly from but given the focus that will now be placed on all model flying from the site, I will not be flying there until there is some firm clarification of the flying rules with regard to height restrictions to name just one!
ReplyDeleteThe Council needs to clearly sign post the bylaws regarding model flying at Mill Hill, so no one can be in doubt on what you can and can't do . There needs to be a compulsory requirement to have BMFA Insurance to fly at the site.
