Another Libelle is ready to fly
Hi All,
I have now finished my DLG Libelle, as yet un-flown but looking the dog's doodahs.
Can't wait to try it out, so far the weather isn't good for a trial.
I can wait I guess. . . . .
Hi guys. I'm interested in purchasing a Libelle in late spring and was wondering if you thought it worthwhile laminating the wing, (to stiffen it up) and the bottom part of the fin, as it looks like it will hit the ground on landing? Steve
Hi Steve. These things are fun and well designed and easy to build. I wouldn't personally laminate the wings as the carbon fibre rod does a good job stiffening up them. The thing with the Libelle it lands at such a low speed that it virtually stops if held off on landing. I have flown mine mainly on grass so the landings have been soft. You gotta get one of these Steve. I have used the Gening D531BB from BRC Hobbies @ £4.95 each and the Alula 300mah NIMH battery for £5.95 from T9 HobbySport. Mine comes out a round 280grms. Hope this helps.
I like the 'dogs testicles' Rob. I think we found a new name for your model!
ReplyDeleteDidn't it go well today, Rob? Just need to get your peg fitted.
