Newhaven Cliffs (S - SW)

NEWHAVEN CLIFFS (S - SW)

Newhaven Cliffs is a great place to fly in a S or SW wind provided that you are OK with cliff flying. **This is not the easiest of sites to find **
If you follow the signs to the Fort you will find the right place.

The address is Fort Road, Newhaven BN9 9DS

Here is a map of the site - click the map to enlarge

To find the site proceed South along the A26 to Newhaven, then turn West onto the A259 flyover across the river Ouse, following the signs to the Fort. Then turn left along South Road and proceed into Fort Road, then turn right up the road to Castle Hill Nature Reserve. Park at the top of the road in the Newhaven Fort carpark. Walk up the track South from the carpark to the top of the cliffs by the Coastguard station and fly off the cliffs to the West of the coastguard station.

Flying this site is great fun but the landing area is small and if you fly too far behind the flight line you will likely lose your model in a mass of brambles and scrub which make it very difficult to retrieve the model.
